pickly: meet me halfway

halfway © kristin chapman 2013 (iphone, snapseed)

I took this image with my iphone a few weeks ago on one of my daughter’s nature walks. Today I edited it in snapseed and was about to post it on instagram when I asked her what she thought of this picture. She stated the obvious they’re two ducks swimming on the water.

And then she said, “the duck better not go that way, ” she pointed to the dark reflection in the top left hand corner.

“Why is that?” I asked.

“It’s not good over there, its scary. It’s beautiful over here.” she gestured to the lower half of the image.

I cropped it an instagram, and showed her.
“I like it better” was her response. I did too.

Children give the best feedback, they are so honest and as adults we know their intentions are innocent.

I miss critiques, it’s nice to have feedback and important to remember that you don't have to be “experienced” to give it. We all interpret things differently but feedback gives the creator an opportunity to consider the viewers perspective. I am always open to give feedback as well as receive it. Feel free to drop a line.

You can see the cropped version on instagram or here.

Enjoy your weekend and dont forget to check out the Bedford Gallery’s Peaceable Kingdom exhibit. It’s pretty awesome, (and I am not just saying that because I am in it). k
